Ford: BA Student Scholarship Fund
Overview
Scholarships to undergraduates in the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy (FSPP) are largely funded by gifts to the Ford School. These gifts include donations to the FSPP Annual Fund for student support, scholarship endowments, bequests, and annual gifts from donors. The Ford School scholarship funds are intended to supplement other University-level sources (distributed through the UM Office of Financial Aid). Ford School scholarships are need-based, which means that scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Scholarships will be determined this summer for the upcoming academic year.
Eligibility
Applicants must be BA students enrolled in the Ford School and taking classes on the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus. Recipients must maintain full-time enrollment (12 credit hours a term or more). If a student chooses to withdraw or ceases to carry the required number or credits, they should contact Amy Flanagan at aflan@umich.edu.
Application Procedures
In order to be considered for funding, students must complete the entire M-Compass application. Click "Apply Now" on this page to begin.
Students must also complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the University of Michigan's Office of Financial Aid by the deadline posted on their website: http://finaid.umich.edu/current-undergraduates/
Need to Know
Monetary Award
The FSPP BA Student Scholarship amount is determined based on your scholarship application and on your financial aid package from the University of Michigan's Office of Financial Aid. The FSPP Scholarship Committee has access to each applicant's financial aid package to establish eligibility and the scholarship amount. Please note that the Ford BA scholarships are not awarded or administered by the Office of Financial Aid. Students can apply for a scholarship each year while enrolled at the Ford School. However, an award in one year does not guarantee a Ford BA Student Scholarship will be awarded for a subsequent year.
