Graduate Clinical Immersion in Uganda

Overview

Nursing in Uganda

UM graduate Midwifery students will complete two to four weeks of clinical immersion in Fort Portal, Uganda, with supervision by a UMSN faculty member.

Eligibility

This program is open to Midwifery students enrolled in Nursing 677 or Nursing 571 Students must have current neonatal Resuscitation Certification prior to departure.

Costs

Program Fee TBD, includes

  • travel med insurance local transportation

  • Airfare (est. $1200 - $1500) Pasport ($135)
  • Ugandan visa ($100)
  • Most meals
  • Immunizations (est. $50)

Application Procedures

Application checklist requirements include

  • Graduate study abroad application questionnaire
  • Resume/CV upload
  • Uploaded copy of unofficial U-M transcript
  • Passport information and upload
Accepted students will receive additional pre-departure requirements to complete on M-Compass checklist page. Additionally, there will be informational sessions prior to departure.
