Medical students at the University of Michigan Medical School are eligible to apply for funds to support their participation as a presenter at conferences or symposia that is relevant to international engagement or global health. Priority will be given to student's presentations that are in line with Global REACH's mission and strategic objectives.
Funding is limited and competitive
You must be presenting at the conference you are requesting support.
University of Michigan Medical students are eligible to receive support once every fiscal year. The fiscal year runs July 1st through June 30th.
While the application for the conference support funding grant is rolling, however, please be mindful to submit your funding application 60 days prior to departure.
Support may be requested for conference registration, poster printing, coach airfare, local transportation, lodging and meals
Global REACH WILL NOT reimburse students for airline tickets purchased with frequent flyer miles.

Post Conference: Please submit the following to the Global REACH office
A photo of you with or at your presentation for our website use
A 1 page report of your experience including
What you gained from the experience
What you contributed
How your materials were received
Any networking or collaborations you were able to make as a result of participating in this conference or symposium.
A final copy of either your poster or presentation slides
Students traveling internationally are required to have a passport which is valid for six months beyond the end date of their trip and contain at least two blank Visa pages.
Visa: Some destinations may require students to obtain a visa to enter the country. It is the students' responsibility to determine exit/entry requirements if their travel itinerary includes multiple countries. Requirements, visa types and application fees may vary depending on a students' citizenship and travel plans.Vaccinations: The CDC website provides general information about travelers' health, safety and security as well as specific information about recommended vaccinations for various countries.
Applications will be reviewed by the Managing Director of Global REACH; the applicant will be notified within 30 days of the request for funding.
