Program Fee

 

Program Fee Includes:

  • UM GEOBlue Insurance 
  • Required IPE pre-departure orientation (Saturday, April 7, 2018)
  • Accommodation in Turin
  • Transportation to and from the program location and student housing
  • Tuition for ENTR 410 and 417 (3 credits) 
  • Required course materials 
  • Daily mentoring sessions by Silicon Valley and other global experts
  • Access to the pool of 100 mentors, speakers, VC's


Airfare

  • Airfare estimate provided by STA Travel and is based on round-trip airfare from Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) to Turin-Caselle Airport (TRN) with departure from DTW on July 6 and return from TRN on July 28, 2018. 

Books & Supplies

  • Included in Program Fee

Housing

  • Housing in student apartments, including free wifi, is included in the program fee.

Local Transportation

  • Transportation to and from the program location and your housing is included in the Program Fee; estimate is for additional personal transportation and varies by student

Meals

  • Meals estimate is provided by the host institution. Meals are the responsibility of the student. 
  • Breakfast: the average breakfast cost is around 3-4 EURO
  • Lunch: the average lunch cost is 5-9 EURO; the EIA program location is next to the main restaurant area as well as the big supermarket where you can purchase food 
  • Dinner: the average cost is 13-22 EURO depending on meal choices: there are cooking facilities in the student housing

U.S. Passport Application

  • U.S. Passport Application estimate only includes passport fee at standard processing rate.
  • A USPS service charge ($25USD) will be incurred for applicants who have never applied for a passport or were under 16 when issued a previous passport.
  • Expedited application processing will incur an additional $60USD processing fee.
  • Please refer to the US State Department’s Passport Fees website for additional information.

Passport Photos

  • Cost for passport-sized photos (taken professionally) which are needed for the U.S. Passport Application. Students can get these taken on-campus at Michigan Photography.

Personal Expenses

  • Personal Expenses estimate includes:
    • 150 EURO for optional social and cultural activities
    • toiletries, phone, internet, clothing/laundry 
    • $200 USD for unforeseen expenses  (i.e. paying out of pocket for a medical expense to be reimbursed later by GeoBlue)
    • $45 for UHS's optional pre-departure travel health consultation.  Learn more and schedule an appointment on the U-M Travel Health Services website.
  • Personal expenses vary greatly by student
