M-Compass Safety Plans

Safety plans for for U-M Related Travel (UMRT) to a U-M Travel Warning, a U-M Travel Restriction, or a travel health medium/high country are submitted in M-Compass. Links to create safety plans are posted on the Global Michigan website and listed below:

Step-by-step instructions for submitting a safety plan in M-Compass are listed below.

Research your destination on the U-M Travel Designation website https://global.umich.edu/travel-safety-and-wellness/country-risk-ratings/
Determine what type of safety plan you need to submit
Click on the link that corresponds to the type of plan you need to submit.

1. Click on the U-M LOGIN button
2. Enter your U-M Uniqname and password
3. Complete the questions on the Traveler Information questionnaire 4. Click the Submit button
5. A confirmation email is sent
6. The User Home page loads 7. Click in the grey bar to open the plan application
8. Review instructions 9. Click on the Get Started! button
10. Complete items on the application checklist
11. Use the scroll arrows to advance
12. Click the Submit Questionnaire button
13. Completed items move to the bottom of the page
14. Submit the plan application for review
15. A confirmation email is sent
16. Status change email is sent
17. Success notification and status change
18. Logout when finished
